Steven D. Ogburn, better known as Blade, born 1957, is one of the most prolific street artists. Owning the title «King of Graffiti» he helped shaping graffiti and street art as we know it. Blade started writing on trains at the age of 15. He was active graffiti writer in New York between 1972-1982 creating over five thousand pieces. He was recognized for developing overlapping 3D letters and blockbuster letters. 1984 he turned his back to the streets and started painting on canvas instead. He claimed to have noting more to prove. Switching to artworks suitable for indoor exhibitions that have brought him worldwide recognition. Blade lives and works in the Bronx.
